This project explores my emotional journey through Glasgow, expressing my homesickness and fear in a new environment. Like broken objects in the project, I remain held together, finding the strength to continue despite feeling fragile. I designed text and paragraphs to express scattered emotions. Each section varies in font, composition, and style, communicate different aspects of brokenness. Simple words reflect my communication as a non-native English speaker. Each piece of text, alongside broken glass, were placed along the footpath to create a sense of connection to the environment.

Inspired by the Garscube Links Commission and its use of Alasdair Gray’s Gray Display font, I explored how typography can integrate into the environment. This installation, blending hopeful messages with nature, showed me how text could inhabit public spaces. It influenced my decision to place my fragmented text along paths, reflecting both emotional and physical journeys.

— Zine Design

For the zine, I used various shapes of broken glass pieces as the shape of each page. Each was filled with different broken pieces that I got from walking and describing the story of each design.
